Equilibrium Marketing Solutions’ Interview Tips
At Equilibrium Marketing Solutions, we interview a great many people to help us build our team of top performers. Over time we have developed some pretty strong ideas about qualities we need to see in an applicant in order to make the right decision.
Equilibrium Marketing Solutions executives have come up with a short list of some of the criteria that guide us:
• Preparation: Our interviewers can tell pretty quickly when a new prospect isn’t ready. We need you to wow us by showing you know something about our industry and our business.
• Communication: An interview is a two-way street. We want interviewees to both listen and speak; answer our questions, but show your firm grasp of the situation by asking smart questions of your own.
• Confidence: Applicants need to be confident, and the only way to do that is by self-examination that leads to a cataloguing of strengths and weaknesses and an assessment of how to use or overcome, respectively, those traits.
• Positivity: If the tone of a person with whom we’re meeting is negative, we have a pretty good idea that might carry across to future work. Negativity is not a quality we, or any other employer, seeks in a new team member. Don’t speak poorly of former companies and bosses or coworkers.
There are many more factors, of course, but these are some of the most important to the people who make these choices at Equilibrium Marketing Solutions, and likely just about any company with which you might land an interview. We believe they are, or should be, universal requirements.
